For Educators

Educators play a key role in instilling pride and care for Missouri’s trees and forests with our children. Joining the Missouri Forestkeepers Network and getting your students involved will allow you to build a sense of community responsibility and environmental awareness in your classroom, provide hands-on learning and introduce your students to Missouri’s natural resources.

Many of the basic activities conducted by Forestkeepers meet The Missouri Show-Me Standards and Science Grade Level Expectations to make your job easier. These correlations are available when you join. The program provides straightforward opportunities for students at all grade levels to become involved in data collection, identifying Missouri trees, data analysis, and report writing.

Forestkeepers is open to any interested school group, individual, family or organization. Once enrolled, you determine your level of involvement and the time you invest in the program.
